Snapchat now let’s you send money to your friends

Today Snapchat is entering a whole new market – mobile payments. The messaging service has announced a new feature for sending money to your friends. They cal it Snapcash, and it is powered by popular mobile payments company Square.

Once you set up your debit card information, you can easily send money to your friends by accessing the messaging section and typing in the dollar sign ($) along with the quantity you want to send. It’s only available for USA Snapchat users who are 18 and have a debit card.

Opinion: This seems a bit odd, to say the least. I also wonder how it will go if you are simply taking toy our friend about money. If I tell a friend “My car costed $15,000″, will it send them that money?
